Notre Dame Day 2018 - Give and Vote portal is now open!

Location: Campus-wide

Notre Dame Day 2018 will broadcast for 29 hours beginning at 6:42 PM ET on April 22 and ending at 12:11 AM ET on April 24, and is an opportunity for people to celebrate what they love most about Notre Dame. The Give and Vote portal is now open and you may cast your votes for the Center for Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine!

Your donation and money raised from your votes (your votes will help determine the allocation of a $1.1 Million Challenge Fund that will be awarded to areas based on the percentage of votes they receive) will be used to support undergraduate and graduate student research on the use of adult stem cells and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells to understand the progression and treatment of debilitating diseases. Adult stem and iPS cells provide an ethical research avenue and potential treatment of medical conditions ranging from Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson disease, blindness, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and kidney disease, to name a few. In addition, research at Notre Dame is exploring the use of iPS cells to generate bone marrow and blood cells, which will significantly impact the lives of individuals waiting for bone marrow transplants. The funds will be used to support these students on their research projects over the summer, when they can devote all of their attention and talent to research, as well as sending them to national and international conferences to present their cutting-edge research results. This research enterprise will also train the next generation of physicians and scientists in the ethical use of this cutting-edge science.

Starting at 6:42 PM ET on April 22, the opening kick-off for Notre Dame Day will begin. Exciting stories, live musical performances, and competitions will be featured throughout this 29-hour LIVE broadcast. You will not want to miss a minute of the broadcast! To watch the LIVE broadcast, go to NOTREDAMEDAY.ND.EDU.
